The Glamor Creativity and Originality of Celebrity Baby Showers

Your baby shower is one of the most prized memories that any mother can have. Just as everyday people make the most of this once in a lifetime moment, celebrities are known for making the most of this occasion and having some of the most grand and luxurious baby showers. Splurging is common among celebrities, especially if it is going to be for their new coming baby. Celebrities will do and pay anything and everything for their little ones. Icons such as Heidi Klum, Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie, and Gwen Stefani, have held some of the most splendid baby showers of our time.

In 2004, Heidi Klum held a Mexican-themed baby shower for her daughter, Leni, in New York City. The party was catered by Dos Caminos Restaurant, and was full of yummy food and treats! Although the shower was reported to be a small celebration with 25 guests, Klum splurged and made the event a great one. Heidi Klum gave each of her guests a posh tote full of fine beauty products, a boutique gift certificate, and Victoria's Secret pajamas; she made her baby shower all about giving, instead of receiving.

Christina Aguilera's friends and family threw her baby shower in Malibu, California. According to Touch Weekly Magazine, guests brought blue, boy-themed baby gifts. Aguilera registered at Bel Bambini, a chic baby store located in West Hollywood. Baby bottles, diaper bags, and clothes were on the reported list of items in the registry. Among the gifts that she received from the upscale baby boutique were a blue Loved Mom Guitar shirt, a Cariboo bassinet with blue dot bedding, and Trumpette Johnny's socks.

Nicole Richie held her luxurious baby shower alongside Joel Madden at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The couple was reported to have a Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower. They even had a yellow brick road at the celebration, which was lined with candy, ruby slipper centerpieces, and a live band that performed the songs of the classic tale. The event also raised money for the new Richie Madden Children's Foundation, which the couple has recently established.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale had the most glamorous baby shower that any musician could have. The shower was held at a friend's mansion in Los Angeles, and was themed after Gwen's clothing line, L.A.M.B. The theme cleverly featured pink lambs. David Arquette and Christina Applegate are two of the many guests that attended Stefani's celebration. Stefani and Rossdale gave out truffles and flowers as gifts, and received an estimated value of $35,000 in gifts. Some of the gifts were a fancy bedding set, a beautiful chandelier, and a gold necklace. These were just a few of the many deluxe gifts that Stefani's baby received at the shower.

Celebrities seem to go all out these days when it comes to pampering their babies. The more unique and original the baby shower is the better. Regardless of your budget, making your shower a one-of-a-kind event should be a priority for every mother-to-be, celebrity or not.

Childrens Play Furniture Has Come a Long Way Regarding Kids Room Decor

The strides that have been made in children's toys are amazing. And children's play furniture has evolved right along with it. When I was small, building a tower of blocks or Legos on the carpet was part of the challenge. Now there are play tables galore which not only a provide more sound foundation than 70's style orange shag carpeting but also storage and come with a supply of building materials to boot!

Toddlers love a table just their size

If a toy or game utilizes a horizontal surface there is a table customized to provide that perfect surface for hours of play. Toddlers especially benefit from the enhanced play-ability a play table provides. A child of 18-months to two years of age might love blocks, or train tracks or Duplo blocks until they keep falling over when mommy walks past. The dexterity necessary to build a stable tower or prevent a train track from busting up is often beyond the ability of a young child. This leaves them frustrated. A play table removes the frustration of a shifting carpet foundation.

Play tables are low to the ground keeping all the toys within easy reach for the toddler. This can benefit the play regimen in several ways. Raising the play surface off the floor is great for the toddler, because it keeps his toys safely out of reach of his carpet cruising sibling. This removes the calamity of reaching and curious baby fingers accidentally stealing the foundation of your toddler's creations. Standing or sitting to play at their very own table is great fun, undisturbed and stable.

Moms and Dads love the confined mess

The benefits of playing with a table are not limited to the toddler. Parents also benefit. As noted above, there are likely to be fewer arguments because of accidental knockdowns or busted tracks. Keeping the older siblings toys out of reach of baby is also an extra baby proofing measure. Small pieces of train sets or tiny Legos are just the right size for baby to pop into their curious little mouths. Rather than ban all toys with small pieces until baby passes the choking phase, a table can keep the messy toys with small parts safely out of reach.

In the act of saving toys with small pieces from banishment, play tables don't end their benefits by virtue of their height.

A tabletop has a natural confining effect on the mess. The play area is clearly defined as beginning and ending at the table's edge. This means no more dumping of bins and scattering their contents into the far corners of the room and under all the furniture. The area beneath the table is perfect for storing the pieces used on the topside surface. Some models of play tables come equipped with built in storage areas.

Children's tables and chairs keep the whole family happy

How many times has it happened that you and your toddler set out to create a Lego jungle to populate with toy animals, or a block castle for your little people or the perfect railway complete with over passes and drawbridges, then by the time building is completed play time is over and you never played? This is often the case as so many of us have packed schedules. A play table comes in handy here as well. Instead of having to put the whole mess away the table's surface now stands as a storage area for that perfect environment. Now you can build your train track and play with it too.

This is great because you can leave the unfinished towers out for later play or keep the perfectly constructed railway in tact for use over the course of many weeks.
